Our Sheetmetal/Structures Crew Leads have extensive experience in the sheet metal work process on corporate/VIP aircraft structures. Your oversight of the assigned crew performing maintenance, modifications, and repairs ensures that assigned projects are completed within the required budget, allotted hours, quality standards, and material guidelines.

Working Hours This is a full-time (FT) 40-hour-a-week position. Hours will change based on business operational needs and flexibility is required:

Day Shift: 7 am to 3:30 pm

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Completed training in a vocation or technical school. Knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair.

  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years in a leadership or mentorship role. Expressly displaying the ability to successfully lead a team in a production environment.

  • Up to a minimum of 7 years of sheet metal experience within the aerospace/aviation industry directly related to aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.

  • Completed the Repairman Certificate training in accordance with FCC Repair Station Manual.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of an MRP (Material Resources Planning) system is required; Corridor software is a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

The Details

Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Guide and coach, the performance of assigned staff in the execution of work assignments; ensure that they are completed within the required budget, allotted hours, quality standards, and material guidelines.

  • Monitor any issues to ensure production targets, key performance indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the customer.

  • Have a superior technical working knowledge of sheet metal installation and/or fabrication processes and tools, machinery, and specialized techniques required for the fabrication of custom aircraft components.

  • Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards while fostering a culture of a safe work environment. Train new associates within the area of responsibility.

  • Comply with approved design, engineering, and FAA requirements. Ensure team members are aware of and follow methods set forth by the Repair Station and Quality Control Manual(s).

  • Continually evaluate, identify system improvements, and make recommendations for change that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time and man-hours, and other process improvement techniques.

  • Ensuring workflow is tracked with consistent accuracy in the MRO/MRP system.

  • Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.
