Senior Payables Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to serve as a leader within the Accounting Department in the accounts payable area supporting the Controller by ensuring that invoice processing is timely, accurate, and complete.  Incumbent will process all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

The Senior Payables Analyst's core objective is to help drive process improvement and efficiencies while demonstrating a continual willingness to learn and serve as a team member.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Review and verify invoices and check requests to prepare.

2. Handle all aspects of the accounts payable process; sorting, coding, and matching; set up for payment; entering and uploading invoices into system; and researching and resolving invoice discrepancies and issues.

3. Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.

4. Monitor and reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure payments are up-to-date.

5. Maintain vendor files and corresponding with vendors, responding to their inquiries.

6. Produce monthly reports and assisting with month-end/year-end closing.

1. Maintain and organize all payment records by saving them electronically and filing any necessary paper documentation.

2. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

1. Bachelor's degree in a related field not required but is strongly preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in similar or related positions with specific experience in accounting.

3. Strong Excel skills and dealing with complex accounting systems and databases; experience with Great Plains software preferred but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Multi-tasking with exceptional communication and time management skills.

2. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

3. Basic math functions with whole numbers, decimals and fractions and the ability to know how and when to use them.

4. Key competencies related to working with a diverse group of individuals and departments are desirable.

5. Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.

6. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.

7. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.
