Senior Buyer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for determining the procurement and expediting of consumables and materials required to meet the Company's production schedules as well as the quality and price. Incumbent will plan and deliver against project deadlines. A Senior Buyer's core objective is to manage and coordinate complex procurement activities of assemblies, platforms, systems, and components.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Manage and coordinate manufactured components from outside suppliers in accordance to the Production Schedules.

2. Purchase aircraft hardware, paints, materials, and related requirements to support the manufacturing process

3. Obtain quotes, prepare price analysis and recommendations. Identify cost savings, negotiate prices and delivery terms

4. Liaise with various departments including Program Management, Sales, Engineering, Scheduling, Planning, Interior Backshop, Maintenance, and Completions.

5. Manage order points, inventory levels and lead times to identify and lead action required to reduce and improve.

6. Discuss unacceptable or inferior quality materials with inspection or quality control departments and take corrective action with suppliers.

7. Develop and maintain parts delivery strategy to production (KPIs).

1. Continuous improvement of procurement from input meetings and receiving feedback from supervisors, operational production managers and directors. Also responsible for incorporating necessary revisions to the procurement procedures.

2. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.

This position operates in compliance with all Administrative, Emergency Response, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance policies, AS9100, and procedures as outlined in Company policy and Repair Station Manual(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

1. An Associate's Degree in Business Administration and/or combination of education and equivalent experience equaling 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing Procurement Role.

2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain or procurement environment.

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of an MRP (Material Resources Planning) system strongly preferred; Corridor software a plus.

1. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Results oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.

2. Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

3. Basic math functions with whole numbers, decimals and fractions and the ability to know how and when to use them.

4. Key competencies related to working with a diverse group of individuals and departments are desirable.

5. Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.

6. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.

7. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.
