SUPERVISOR, QUALITY ASSURANCE

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to manage the execution of quality functions related to inspection and ensuring the airworthiness of the aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts/components are in compliance with the provisions of FCC's Repair Station Manual (RSM), approved customer specifications, and applicable government regulations.

Incumbent will be directly responsible for the overall performance of the Inspector(s) to ensure the training and deployment of Standard Practices, and to monitor quality consistency. Supporting the Quality Manager or accountable manager in assigned duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Achieve the required product quality standards by creating, executing, and reinforcing AS9100 system objectives and processes for interior completions.

  2. Audit quality control of raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards.

  3. Lead and mentor shop lead(s) to achieve needed results for safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements set forth by operations management.

  4. Effectively communicate with upstream suppliers and shop peers to ensure process and project deliverables are provided consistent with shop practices and support project goals.

  5. Regularly report Progress and constraints for shop Safety, Quality, and Project Budget and Schedule to operations management.

  6. Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate activities of the shop area. Ensure that all work is properly prioritized through the shops to work within resource constraints and downstream customer need.

  7. Oversee and supervise all aspects monument assembly. Verify all equipment and tools assigned to the shop area are serviceable and in safe working condition.

  8. Utilize the methods set forth by the company's Quality Control Manual(s).

  9. Ensure that all in-process inspections and processes are being properly accomplished and documented.

  10. Read work orders, Engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure work in the shop is performed in accordance with released data.

  11. Confer with monument center Supervisors, and project manager to ensure all quality, schedule, and budget expectations are met.

  12. Lead Continuous process Improvement efforts in Fabrication shop; process analysis (mapping, etc.), measurement (KPIs and Comm. Board), data analysis (Pareto etc.) and problem solving (PDCA, 5-whys, fishbone, etc.).

  13. Train new personnel on proper procedures.

  14. Notify proper authority (Quality, Operations Management, Sr. Management) of any suspected quality escapes as soon as realized/validated.

  15. Foster positive team environment. Exposed to the concept of "servant leadership".

  16. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE / HEALTH AND SAFETY:

The health and safety described here is representative of the requirements by an employee to protect a worker's own health and safety by working in compliance with the law as well as conducting themselves in a manner that promotes safe work practices and procedures as established by the company.

This position operates in compliance with all Administrative, Emergency Response, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance policies, AS9100, and procedures as outlined in Company policy and Repair Station Manual(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent

  2. Minimum of 7 to 10 years of production inspection experience in aviation strongly preferred. Experience with business aircraft interior completions/refurbishments, heavy maintenance inspections and exterior paint processes as applicable.

  3. Must possess a A&P Certificate or Repairman Certificate issued by Flying Colours Corp.

  4. Must have 7+ years of experience in quality assurance within aerospace industry, which must include 4+ years of supervisory or lead experience either in aircraft maintenance or quality.

  5. Minimum of 6 years of inspection experience applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Principles and Practices.

  6. Comprehensive knowledge of tasks and responsibilities within their technical area. Comprehensive knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including but not limited to surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gages, bore gauges, and dial indictors.

  7. Ability to identify procedures and parts using approved data and manufacturer maintenance and parts manuals.

  8. Good manual dexterity and adept in use of precision measuring tools.

  9. Knowledge of programming and running a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM); portable and non-portable.

  10. Knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100 Quality management systems; working knowledge of First Article Inspection requirements per AS9102.

  11. Must possess appropriate mathematical and analytical skills to determine acceptability of product(s) based on established criteria.

  12. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools; expressly Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  13. Ability to discern colors Vision (OR Corrected) Acuity of 20/2.

  1. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.

  2. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.
