Our growing company is looking for a Quality Specialist to provide day-to-day focus on the proper execution of actions necessary for the on-time delivery and first-time quality of products and services. To provide technical and administrative guidance to ensure that performance and quality of products conform to established company, regulatory standards, agency guidelines, and customer requirements by implementing and maintaining quality assurance policies, processes, procedures and controls.

As a Quality Specialist, you will also be responsible for:

  • Auditing and administering the AS9100 and AS9110 Standard, assist Management to maintain AS9100 and AS9110 processes and procedures for all departments, and coordinate and schedule audits for Flying Colours Corp.

  • Developing guidelines, standards, systemic metric information, certification methods and associated written products to carry out policies for addressing safety and compliance related aviation requirements.

  • Managing the development and implementation of program quality plans, programs, and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.

  • Guiding the processes, audits, and trainings for Safety and HAZMAT programs.

  • Directing investigations of problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.

  • Developing, auditing and maintaining regulatory manuals, documentation and records for compliance with Flying Colours Corp standards and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Developing, conducting and training Quality methodologies including Practical Problem Solving.

  • Other duties as needed.

To perform successfully as a Quality Specialist, we are looking for the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or Technical discipline or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with ISO9001/AS9100 required, with Lead Assessor Training preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in the Production, Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul (MRO) environment.

  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is desired.

  • Able to communicate with others in a clear and concise manner while building credibility and rapport.

  • Able to take action in solving problems using a standardized approach while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues.

  • Self-motivated with a professional and positive approach.

  • Strong in building relationships and able to communicate at all levels.

  • Team player, and able to work on own initiative.

  • Dynamic and Creative.

The work environment for a Quality Specialist, may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Regular periods during which physical effort is required, e.g., walking standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

  • Exposure to factors such as temperature variations/extremes, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, and materials which can cause periods of discomfort.

  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.

  • Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
