Flying Colours is a factory authorized Bombardier service center.
Duties
- Inspect parts fabricated in the sheet metal shop to conform to Flying Colours drawings and standards
- Inspect parts fabricated by outside vendors to conform to Flying Colours drawings and standards
- Create Manufacturing Process and Inspection (MPI) forms for all parts to be fabricated in house or by outside vendors
- Maintain a Data Base of the MPI forms
- Issue Paint Request forms for parts that require painting
- Maintain a data base, Inventory Control, of parts in process (WIP) and issue parts from the Quarantine area that have been fabricated and held in quarantine until required for install.
- Chase parts for timely delivery to other shops where parts are required for install
- Issue Request for engineering (RFE) forms when non conformances and drawing errors are found.
- Suggest solutions to engineering to correct the above
- Use the Document Data Base to keep current with drawing and RFE's
- Issue Parts and Material Requisitions to have parts fabricated i.e.: welded, plated, heat treated, by outside vendors
- Suggest improvements for the manufacture and production of parts, to cut costs and speed up production
- Performs other miscellaneous job duties/responsibilities as required
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Advanced level blueprint, engineering and customer drawings reading and interpretation
- Advanced level knowledge of manufacturing procedures and practices
- Advanced level knowledge and ability to use job-related quality measurement tools
- Advanced level knowledge and understanding of ISO and Quality requirements
- Basic level knowledge of calibration standards
