Purchasing Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for learning and supporting upper level buyers within the department. Incumbent will support team to plan and help deliver against project deadlines. A Purchasing Clerk's core objective is to learn to manage and coordinate procurement activities of assemblies, platforms, systems, and components while supporting the team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Carry out various entry-level tasks related to the company's involvement.

  2. Learn to purchase goods, supplies and other relevant services.

  3. Learn to participate in the more complex areas of contract negotiating and agreements.

  4. Review purchase orders, confer with other departments to verify orders, contact vendors and evaluate bids offered by suppliers.

  5. Aid with various purchasing procedures, inventories, accounts, proposals and similar preparations.

  6. Obtain quotes, prepare price analysis and recommendations. Identify cost savings, negotiate prices and delivery terms.

  7. Liaise with various departments including Program Management, Sales, Engineering, Scheduling, Planning, Interior Backshop, Maintenance, and Completions.

  8. Learn how to manage order points, inventory levels and lead times to identify and lead action required to reduce and improve.

  1. Continuous improvement of procurement from input meetings and receiving feedback from supervisors, operational production managers and directors. Also responsible for incorporating necessary revisions to the procurement procedures.

  2. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.

This position operates in compliance with all Administrative, Emergency Response, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance policies, AS9100, and procedures as outlined in Company policy and Repair Station Manual(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  1. High School Diploma, some college or technical schooling and/or combination of education and equivalent experience.

  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of an MRP (Material Resources Planning) system strongly preferred; Corridor software a plus.

  1. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Results oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.

  2. Negotiation and influencing skills preferred but not required.

  3. Basic math functions with whole numbers, decimals and fractions and the ability to know how and when to use them.

  4. Key competencies related to working with a diverse group of individuals and departments are desirable.

  5. Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.

  6. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.

  7. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.
