Seeking: Project Manager, MRO

Do you like managing multiple projects? If so, your organizational skillset and attention to detail will help you manage a project list for our retail aviation customers. The Project Manager, MRO, is the primary and single point of contact for the MRO customer, sales and operations, and planning.

Your Job

The Project Manager supports the customers, sales staff, and maintenance technicians to ensure that all needs are known and communicated in a timely manner and in accordance with all aviation regulations and Flying Colours repair station.

Working Hours

This is a full-time 40-hour-a-week exempt position. Extended hours and flexibility may be required based on business operational needs. This is a fully on-site position.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an MRO FAA Part 145 environment with strong MPD understanding.

  • Strong knowledge of Global, Challenger, CRJ, and Learjet aircraft preferred.

  • Four years of relevant college, program certificates, or equivalent combination of experience and education in Aviation preferred.

  • Airframe and Powerplant License and/or FCC License, or equivalent, preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of an MRP (Material Resources Planning) system is strongly preferred; Corridor software is a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

The Details

Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Lead pre-planning meetings with all departments, as required, prior to and during aircraft work scope.

  2. Oversee pre-planning to ensure the work is planned and any required materials are ordered.

  3. Work with sales as they hand off the project prior to aircraft input.

  4. Meet aircraft on arrival and coordinate after-hours arrival reception.

  5. Ensure that the customer is promptly debriefed by technical staff and follows up on the approved work status.

  6. Promote and nurture facility and customer relationships. Control customer engagements with staff.

  7. Administer, control, and report performance to the budget, including weekly project reporting to Sr. Mgmt. and final Post Mortem reporting on project financial performance.

  8. Monitor cost center performance to schedule and budget, and engage associated management for corrective action when necessary.

  9. Ensure that all additional tasks are estimated, explain findings to the customer, and procure sign-off from the customer. Obtains approval for overtime from the customer if needed.

  10. Manage the creation, submission, and collection of deposits and progress payments as required per the terms of the contract. Assists Accounting of collection of final payment

  11. Chair the pre-arrival, customer arrival briefing, and departure debrief meetings as needed.

  12. Perform regular reviews of work orders to verify that the project is on track.

  13. Monitor the aircraft work order processing to ensure accurate, timely invoicing.

  14. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.
