Payables Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to perform routine clerical accounts payable functions following appropriate procedures to ensure timely and accurate preparation of payables.

The Payables Analyst's core objective is to process all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Process accounts and incoming invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
2. Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payables data.
3. Match purchase orders to vendor invoice, research and clear any differences.
4. Reconcile the accounts payables ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
5. Verify discrepancies by and resolve vendors billing issues.

1. Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts payable status.
2. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
2. Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in similar or related positions with specific experience in accounting.
3. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong Excel skills and dealing with complex accounting systems and databases; experience with Great Plains software preferred but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Multi-tasking with exceptional communication and time management skills.
2. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
3. Basic math functions with whole numbers, decimals and fractions and the ability to know how and when to use them.
4. Key competencies related to working with a diverse group of individuals and departments are desirable.
5. Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.
6. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
7. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.

The location where this position functions is in a warehouse environment which is subject to constant exposure to loud noise, potential contact with hazardous/non-hazardous waste material and other safety hazards such as production tools, aircraft monuments, interior components: divans, chairs, other cabinets, small and medium sized parts, etc.
