Parts Kitting Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to accurately and efficiently assembling items into a pre-determined kit to support production schedules.  Incumbent will ensure internal and external customers receive quality parts in a timely manner.

The Kitting Specialist's core objective is to package inventory on hand with accuracy and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Retrieving and interpreting lists of material and obtain containers required to build the kits assigned.

  2. Picking and counting parts, then assembling kits with 100% accuracy to the list of materials.

  3. Building kits according to the schedule provided.

  4. Labeling the kits and kit parts with appropriate information as provided.

  5. Following the correct kitting, and parts / paperwork tracking procedures.

  6. Placing / issuing complete kits in the correct location for production according to the schedule provided.

  7. Performing bin maintenance as scheduled.

  8. Placing received material in the correct bins daily.

  9. Affixing new labels to bins as required.

  10. Supporting production personnel as required to ensure production flow.

  1. Ensuring a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency and workplace safety.

  2. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.

The health and safety described here is representative of the requirements by an employee to protect a worker's own health and safety by working in compliance with the law as well as conducting themselves in a manner that promotes safe work practices and procedures as established by the company.

This position operates in compliance with all Administrative, Emergency Response, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance policies, AS9100, and procedures as outlined in Company policy and Repair Station Manual(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  1. High School Diploma, some college or technical schooling and/or combination of education and equivalent experience.

  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience in supply chain, warehouse, or material environment.

  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.  Working knowledge of an MRP (Material Resources Planning) system strongly preferred; Corridor software a plus.

  1. Remain current on HAZMAT shipping procedures and processes.

  2. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with prior experience driving box trucks transporting material/goods a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Detail oriented with the ability to multi task to deliver against project deadlines.

  2. Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

  3. Basic math functions with whole numbers, decimals and fractions and the ability to know how and when to use them.

  4. Key competencies related to working with a diverse group of individuals and departments are desirable.

  5. Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.

  6. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.

  7. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The location where this position functions is in a warehouse environment which is subject to constant exposure to loud noise, potential contact with hazardous/non-hazardous waste material and other safety hazards such as production tools, aircraft monuments, interior components: divans, chairs, other cabinets, small and medium sized parts, etc.
