Manager - QA

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will provide day-to-day focus on the proper execution of actions necessary for the on-time delivery and first-time quality of products and services.  To provide technical and administrative guidance to ensure that performance and quality of products conform to established company, regulatory standards, agency guidelines, and customer requirements by implementing and maintaining quality assurance policies, processes, procedures and controls.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Audit and administer the AS9100 Standard, assist Management to maintain AS9100 processes and procedures for all departments, and coordinate and schedule audits for Flying Colours Corp.

  2. Develop guidelines, standards, systemic metric information, certification methods and associated written products to carry out policies for addressing safety and compliance related aviation requirements.

  3. Manage the development and implementation of program quality plans, programs, and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.

  4. Directs investigations of problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.

  5. Develop, audit and maintain regulatory manuals, documentation and records for compliance with Flying Colours Corp standards and applicable laws and regulations.

  6. Develop, conduct and train Quality methodologies including Practical Problem Solving.

  1. Adhere to and enforce procedures set forth by the company's Repair Station, Quality Control Manual(s) and QSM.

  2. Develop action plans with results-oriented goals for measuring success.

  3. Foster positive team environment. Exposed to the concept of "servant leadership".

  4. With support from Human Resources, ensure employees are trained, motivated and are made aware of their responsibility for preventing and/or minimizing safety and security risk.

  5. Work in compliance with all Administrative, Health & Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies.

  6. Extended hours can be expected in this position.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE / HEALTH AND SAFETY:

This position operates in compliance with all Administrative, Emergency Response, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance policies, AS9100, and procedures as outlined in Company policy and Repair Station Manual(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a Business or Technical discipline or equivalent work experience.

  2. Minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in the Production, Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul (MRO) environment.

  3. Minimum of 5 years of experience with ISO9001/AS9100 required, with Lead Assessor Training preferred.

  4. Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is desired.

  1. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Outstanding communication (oral/written) skills required.

  2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

  3. Strong analytical and process skills.

  4. Proficient experience in MS Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  Experience with Corridor a plus.

  5. Must be available to work off scheduled hours as needed.

  6. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.

  7. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The location where this position functions is in a production environment which is subject to constant exposure to loud noise, potential contact with hazardous/non-hazardous waste material and other safety hazards such as production tools, aircraft monuments, interior components: divans, chairs, other cabinets etc.
