Seeking: Maintenance Planner, Fleet projects

Organization, Logistics, Planning Production! Our Program Management maintenance team is seeking an individual to assist in the planning and preparation of production schedules that support the overall strategic plan and business objectives for the projects associated with customer fleet maintenance ensuring organizational effectiveness through goal attainment.

Your Job

The Maintenance Planner will support the Maintenance department to ensure that fleet projects are planned, organized in a timely manner and in accordance with all aviation regulations and Flying Colours repair station.

Working Hours

This is a full-time (FT) 40 hour a week position. Hours will change based on business operational needs and flexibility is required:

Day Shift: 7am to 3:30pm

Experience and Education Requirements

  • An Associate's Degree in Business Administration and/or a combination of education and equivalent experience equaling 3 years of experience in a Planning Role or Aircraft Maintenance.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in planning or aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of an MRP (Material Resources Planning) system is strongly preferred; Corridor software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

The Details

Primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

Parts Tracking

  1. Track incoming customer-supplied parts. Communicating daily basis with fleet project planners to ensure parts are on track and on schedule to arrive as planned.

  2. When parts are received at Flying Colours, actively ensure their placement within the fleet warehouse is accurately entered and available for the maintenance team to buy from the warehouse.

  3. Direct shipping of parts according to maintenance needs.

  4. Oversee fleet warehouse in conjunction with Flying Colours warehouse to ensure the accuracy of physical placement. Be cognizant of all hazardous materials that may require additional attention.

  5. Ensure all sub-steps are entered into Corridor, allocating to appropriate squawks to ensure that parts are assigned to appropriate work order or change order and are accurate and current to ensure delivery dates are met.

Maintenance Planning

  1. Plan workflow for the Maintenance department according to established shop-specific sequences and upfront release scheduled dates.

  2. Gather, print, assemble, and disseminate fleet maintenance manuals for specific fleet projects essential in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification, fabrication, assembly, and/or installation of aircraft components required for aircraft-specific work scopes.

  3. Ensure quick response time and delivery for any modified planning requirements due to additional work scope, engineering changes, and/or miscalculated shop and planning errors.

  4. Communicate and coordinate with all of the necessary departments, up to and including Flying Colours Maintenance, Avionics, Structures Crew Leads, and Fleet project team, on a daily basis.

  5. Adopt, support, and maintain monitoring systems to ensure the Maintenance Department is on track to the schedule and on budget for the goal hours.

Maintenance Project Planning

  1. Participate with in-process data collection and team problem-solving.

  2. Developing and sustaining operational partnerships fosters effective collaboration between staff in different functions.

  3. Develop competencies within the product lines, work centers, and/or department that focus on technical skills and process improvement, developing an understanding of our overall business (cost and asset) management objectives, team communication and problem-solving techniques, and personal motivation to achieve requirements established for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in quality, schedule and cost performance.

  4. Acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to assist the Parts Lead and Program Manager with their duties when necessary and/or in their absence to keep the project on track and under budget.

  5. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.
