Our growing company is actively seeking a self-motivated Janitor. As a Janitor you will be responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties to ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner.

As a Janitor, you will also be responsible for the clean and care of the buildings and facilities:

• Clean/tidy offices, lunch rooms, stairs, foyer, and production areas.
• Sweep, wash, mop, buff floors.  Vacuum carpeted areas.
• Dust all furniture and fixtures as required.
• Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, sinks, and fixtures.
• Clean all mirrors and windows and doors.
• Replenish toilet tissue, soap, and cleaning supplies.
• Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans.  Wash garbage cans as per schedule.
• Keep outside area near exits and entrances clear of snow and debris.
• Clean and change filters on dust collectors and furnace as per schedule.
• Keep outside building perimeters free of weeds and garbage.
• Maintain outside grounds:  cut grass, dump garbage cans, pick up any garbage or debris.
• Report damages and need for equipment repairs.
• Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, material and supplies in a safe and orderly manner to ensure the safety of staff and clients.

To perform successfully as a Janitor, we are looking for the following:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a housekeeping or custodial function or related equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to understand and follow direction with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and written.
