Inspector, Quality Control

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to inspect and ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts/components are in compliance with the provisions of FCC's Repair Station Manual (RSM), approved customer specifications and applicable government regulations.

The Inspector, Quality Control's core function is to verify proper documentation of discrepancies, inspection check sheets, task cards and all other supporting documents such as approved drawings and technical data, engineering orders, parts/component certification documents and regulatory compliance documentation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Detecting and reporting unusual or non-conforming documentation, materials, conditions, or product to QC Manager.
  2. Ensuring the inspection records, reports and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to releasing products.
  3. Inspecting completed major repairs and/or alterations to ensure compliance with FAR's and engineered drawings.
  4. Selecting and setting up appropriate electronic and measuring inspection equipment that will properly match tolerance requirements, including Faro arm knowledge.
  5. Performing conformity inspections on aircraft, engines and appliances. Performing weight and balance and update equipment list.
  6. Performing company audits per Flying Colours Corp quality auditing system to ensure conformance with company processes.
  7. Interacting with supervisors and technicians for updates/changes to customer work-scope, and assist Leads and supervisors in coordinating distribution of required documentation.
  8. Researching maintenance services i.e. Service Bulletins compliance, Aircraft modifications, and STC's.
  9. Reviewing Work Order prior to releasing the aircraft.
  10. Ensuring that all inspections and maintenance are properly performed in accordance with the appropriate technical data and the Company's Repair Station Manual.
  11. Ensuring that articles undergoing repair or overhaul by the repair station are properly identified, and that current data is being used.
  12. Ensuring the repair station is operating within the Federal Aviation Regulations, and the RSM.
  13. Extended hours can be expected in this position.
  14. Other duties not specifically covered herein but otherwise assigned.

This position operates in compliance with all Administrative, Emergency Response, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance policies, AS9100, and procedures as outlined in Company policy and Repair Station Manual(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  1. Must possess a A&P Certificate or Repairman Certificate issued by Flying Colours Corp.
  2. Must possess a minimum of 3 years' experience as an aircraft mechanic. A minimum of 5 years' experience is preferred.
  3. Must possess a proven ability to work and communicate with all levels of management in a professional manner.
  4. Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematics and calculate algebraic equations.
  1. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written and oral form.
  2. Must be willing to work overtime hours as needed.
  3. Must possess advanced knowledge of computers and programs, including: Corridor, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  4. Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
  5. Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The location where this position functions is in a production environment which is subject to constant exposure to loud noise, potential contact with hazardous/non-hazardous waste material and other safety hazards such as production tools, aircraft monuments, interior components: divans, chairs, other cabinets etc.
