General Manager - Singapore

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The General Manager is responsible for providing overall leadership, vision, direction, and planning for the business operation in Singapore.  This position will have primary responsibility for manufacturing, quality, human resources, continuous improvements, program management, delivery, purchasing, safety, environmental compliance and information technology.  The General Manager will lead and manage the facility team, as well as, work with the Executive Team to execute the overall strategic and business objectives for Flying Colours Corp. in Singapore. 

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

The focus of this role is the optimization of the following key Operational Objectives:

  • On-Time Deliveries: Timely Production Output in accordance with Customer Order Book and business plans, and ensuring ultimate delivery to Customers
  • Quality of finished product
  • Manufacturing Productivity / Efficiency (Productivity per Employee)
  • Cost Control
  • Inventory Control
  • Risk Management (Coordination & scheduling of Human Capital & aircraft)
  • Leadership / Team Motivation / Performance Management
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance

 

The General Manager will establish and set weekly and monthly targets as appropriate to report and demonstrate measurable progress in all of these areas.

 

OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Provides overall direction, guidance and hands-on leadership to Operational functions to maximize performance metrics (Production output, efficiency, profitability, cost control, quality, inventory, and EHS).
  • Delivers results in accordance with budget commitments and operation plans; monitors and ensures projects meet expectations regarding timing and results.
  • Coordinates, drives and manages Completions output, purchasing, quality, human resources utilization relating to manufacturing.
  • Collaborates with the Canadian H.Q. Chief Financial Officer to develop and implement a clear and accurate cost capture and control system.
  • Oversee overall operations planning, systems and controls
  • Foster effective collaboration between staff in different functions by developing and sustaining operational partnerships
  • Lead the development and implementation of 'best practices'
  • Able to work with others to problem solve and achieve common goals in a participative manner
  • Leads and supports an effective and motivated workforce.
  • Oversees the selection and development of operations staff. Provides guidance to subordinate supervisory and technical staff in resolving complex or sensitive staffing issues.  Maintains and promotes positive employee relations in the work environment. 
  • Coordinates activities of all operational areas within Singapore business unit.
  • Fulfills responsibilities for preventing or minimizing safety, SMS and security risks.
  • Works in compliance with all Administrative, Health & Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies.

 

Travel and extended hours can be expected in this position.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

In addition to having a degree in Business or a related field, incumbents must be results-oriented, highly self-motivated and have significant practical Operations and Business Management experience, including Profit & Loss responsibility. 

 

Candidates should typically be able to demonstrate multiple years of progressive, professional experience ideally gained from within the aerospace industry.

 

Significant operational exposure to aircraft interior completions or refurbishments is considered advantageous as is prior experience from within aircraft/aerospace sales.
