Due to continued growth, Flying Colours Corp. is seeking an Aircraft Weights and Balances Technician.  This position is located in Peterborough, ON, CA.

 

Job Description

Weighs, calculates weight, determines fuselage station locations, analyzes data for structural assemblies, electrical components and interior components, for the purpose of weight, balance and operational functions of aircraft. 

Duties:

  • Weighs parts, assemblies and finished aircraft, estimates weight of parts from engineering drawings, and calculates weight distribution to determine center of gravity.
  • Confers with design engineering personnel to ensure coordination of weight, balance, and load specifications.
  • Prepares reports when weight and balance requires engineering changes.
  • Complete records of work done to sustain an accurate record system.
  • Ensure that all maintenance, refurbishment and completion activities with a weight change requirement are controlled on aircraft that are receiving maintenance within the company's facilities and that technical records are originated and retained with respect to all inspections and maintenance functions.
  • Creates and manages supplemental equipment lists and weight and balance amendments.
  • Must perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada/FAA/EASA/CAAC guidelines.
  • Performs work in a productive, diligent, careful and safe manner.
  • Complete any special projects or other tasks as required or assigned. May be assigned to other areas of operations, based on business or customer requirements.
  • Works in compliance with all Administrative, Health & Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies.

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of College/CEGEP/vocational/or technical training in a related field.
  • Experience in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering preferred.
  • Valid Transport Canada issued "M" License (M1 or M2) an asset

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings and written technical instructions.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated heights when required.
  • Excellent planning, organization and coordination skills.
  • Excellent judgment, strong attention to detail.
  • Adaptability
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Attention to detail
