Our growing company is actively seeking Senior Sheetmetal Technician to join our team.  In this highly specialized role, you must have working knowledge and the ability to fabricate, repair, replace, and or rebuild aircraft structures, repair parts, and special tools.

As a successful member of our Int. Sheetmetal/Maintenance team, you will work with setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer; operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts; and/or inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces.

As a Senior Sheetmetal Technician, you will also be responsible for:

  • Safely performing sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft under general supervision.

  • Utilizing proper tooling, shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information.  

  • Safely operating shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions. Use the proper hardware for various sheetmetal applications.

  • Complying with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Use of personal protective equipment as required. Ensuring aircraft interior is protected (PTP).

  • Participating in continuous improvement activities (e.g. Kaizen events).

  • Reading work orders, blueprints, and specifications or examine sample or damaged parts or structures to determine repairs or fabrication procedures and sequence of operations.

  • Coordinating with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications.

  • Using the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.

To perform successfully as a Senior Sheetmetal Technician, we are looking for the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Working knowledge of sheet-metal installation and fabrication processes (measuring, cutting, bending, forming, and drilling of aluminum sheet stock, angle and honeycomb) is required.

  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to complete math and basic financial computations with accuracy.  Up to and including elementary algebra, understanding engineer drawings, use of precision measuring instruments.

  • Able to use tools and equipment associated with sheetmetal installation and fabrication work.

  • High attention to detail and craftmanship.

  • Airframe and Powerplant License a plus.

The work environment for a Senior Sheetmetal Technician, may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Regular periods during which physical effort is required, e.g., walking standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

  • Exposure to factors such as temperature variations/extremes, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, and materials which can cause periods of discomfort.

  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.

  • Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
