Business Methods Analyst

Flying Colours Corp. is seeking a Business Methods Analyst.  This position is located in Peterborough, ON, CA.

 

General Accountability

Reporting to the CFO or dotted line to the General Manager or their designate when in St. Louis, the Business Methods Analyst is responsible to design and implement operational methods that promote the organization's overall efficiency and reduce costs.

The Business Methods Analyst will focus on existing and new business processes, how to identify opportunities with current methodology, and how to redesign, reconstruct, and monitor processes to ensure they are effective. Before developing strategies, the Business Methods Analyst will perform research to determine possible root causes and share findings.  Once consensus is reached, the Business Methods Analyst will develop new or revised processes and assist in implementation.  Post implementation metrics will be measured and monitored on an agreed upon schedule.

Specific Accountabilities

  •  Analyze and identify opportunities for business method improvements.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements, processes and risks.
  • Define, implement and maintain business processes and procedures to meet business objectives.
  • Develop initiatives for continuous business process improvements.
  • Ensure in compliance with customer and company proposed standards.
  • Work with other process engineers in integration of new and existing business processes.
  • Use best practices to carry out business process analysis, re-engineering, process measurements and change management activities.
  • Evaluate current business processes and recommend solutions for improvements.
  • Develop and maintain best practices to meet changing business needs.
  • Build and evaluate financial models for cost estimation, cash flow and cost reduction.
  • Prioritize and execute projects for ongoing business improvements.
  • Provide technical advice on processing technology, capability, risks, costs.

Working Conditions

  • Extensive travel to the United States (St. Louis) at the beginning and then tapering off, but regular visits to St. Louis, or elsewhere will be required.
  • Frequent or occasional periods of time are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about. Occasionally required to stop or lift light material or equipment.
  • Office located in a comfortable indoor area which is air conditioned or climate controlled. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion, e.g.: moderate background noise levels. But also enters and interacts in production areas.
  • Frequent need to give very concentrated attention, either hearing, seeing, visualizing, drafting, to what is happening and work being performed.
  • Frequent and on-going pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
  • Deals with personnel / human resources issues including coordinating with others on work assignments.
  • Final or next-to-final accountability for key organizational outcomes and expected results. 

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a business-related field or in information technology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to problem solve, proficiency with a variety of Microsoft programs and experience analyzing large data sets.
  • Minimum five years' experience in the role of a Business Methods Analyst or demonstrable equivalent experience.

Work Hours:  Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (occasional extended hours may be required)
