GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The Quality Control Manager along with the other department inspectors will conduct fit, finish, inspection and functional checks of critical products and processes in the cabinet, upholstery and finish departments.

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of all company and regulatory Quality Control inspections in the cabinet, upholstery and finish departments.

The Quality Control Manager manages the resources needed to support the sustainment and continuous improvement of the AS9100 and all other processes; ensures that inspections are effectively accomplished to ensure conformity by qualified and authorized personnel; brings forward and ensures issues are resolved in a timely manner; ensures compliance to regulatory and airworthiness requirements while adhering to schedules and customer satisfaction.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Directly reports to the Director of Quality Assurance. The DQA or his designee will assign QC department daily task priorities. This will include the daily requirements for the cabinet, upholstery and finish departments.
  • Advises the Quality Assurance Department on any regulatory/compliance issues (FAA, EASA and AS9100 and QMS) as per the established processes.
  • Advises the Quality Assurance Department through the change request process for any changes required to the QMS manual and associated documents.
  • Responsible for implementing the Quality policy and ensuring team members understand the policy with regard to production inspections and processes.
  • Provide QMS oversight to department Managers, Supervisors and Crew leads.
  • Monitors and coordinates QMS/QC audits, non-conformance report actions and Corrective/Preventative actions with regard to production inspections and processes.
  • Collects and evaluates quality data using statistical techniques.
  • Participates in the management review and quarterly meetings.
  • Provides information for direction of QMS at management review meetings.
  • Training, coaching and mentoring of the QC personnel on QMS program and initiatives with regard to production inspections and processes
  • Uses statistical techniques to identify key quality issues and assist in implementing correction solutions.
  • Participate in the maintenance and tracking of KPI's related to quality.
  • Be involved in fit, finish and functional checks at critical points in the cabinet, upholstery and finish departments.
  • Participates actively in company meetings as requested.
  • With support from Human Resources, ensures that employees under their responsibility are trained, motivated and know their responsibilities for preventing or minimizing safety and security risks.
  • Coordinates annual performance management system for employees under their responsibility in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Check Attendance systems and initiates corrective action where required in conjunction with Human Resources group.
  • Works in compliance with all Administrative, Health & Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies.
  • Some off-site travel for projects and extended hours on/off-site may be required from time-to-time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have at least 5 years of FAA/QC experience with appropriate licensing or industry recognized credentials, together with proven experience in Quality Management / Quality Control system management.  Candidates must have knowledge and understanding of ISO and AS9100 standards and understand related Aviation Industry and CFAR's

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organization and coordination skills.
  • Excellent judgment, strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
