SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards, RSM/QSM and to record supplier performance
  • Inspects purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices: Examines items for defects in materials, workmanship, and damage occurring in transit
  • Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
  • Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to blueprints, parts manuals, company or military standards, and other specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices.
  • Operates dimensional measuring equipment to determine compliance to specification.
  • Segregates and quarantines defective items while following procedures for handling materials.
  • Inspect items for counterfeit conditions (SUP) and maintain material traceability as required.
  • Complete Receiving First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Approves or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information in Computerized Material Control (Corridor) data tracking system.
  • Use automated systems to perform complex testing procedures
  • Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
  • Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards.
  • Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn't meet requirements
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Director of Quality Assurance.
  • Inspect parts fabricated in the sheet metal shop to conform to Flying Colours drawings and standards
  • Inspect parts fabricated by outside vendors to conform to Flying Colours drawings and standards
  • Inspect parts fabricated in the sheet metal shop to conform to Bombardier and Other customer drawings, specifications and standards.
  • Inspect parts fabricated by outside vendors to conform to Bombardier and Other customer drawings and standards
  • Create Manufacturing Process and Inspection (MPI) forms for all parts to be fabricated in house or by outside vendors
  • Maintain a Data Base of the MPI forms
  • Issue Paint Request forms for parts that require painting
  • Maintain a data base, Inventory Control, of parts in process (WIP) and issue parts from the Quarantine area that have been fabricated and held in quarantine until required for install.
  • Chase parts for timely delivery to other shops where parts are required for install
  • Issue Request for engineering (RFE) forms when non conformances and drawing errors are found.
  • Suggest solutions to engineering to correct the above
  • Use the Document Data Base to keep current with drawing and RFE's
  • Issue Parts and Material Requisitions to have parts fabricated i.e.: welded, plated, heat treated, by outside vendors
  • Suggest improvements for the manufacture and production of parts, to cut costs and speed up production.
  • May prepare inspection procedure outlines for reference use in subsequent inspections, using data obtained from blueprints, customer specifications, and catalogs.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced level blueprint, engineering and customer drawings reading and interpretation
  • Advanced level knowledge of manufacturing procedures and practices
  • Advanced level knowledge and ability to use job-related quality measurement tools
  • Advanced level knowledge and understanding of ISO and Quality requirements
  • Basic level knowledge of calibration standards
  • Possess basic computer skill
  • Able to communicate in English, written and verbal.
  • Be able to use digital calipers, micrometers, microscope/magnifier, pin gages, gage blocks and other precision measuring tools.
