Due to continued growth, Flying Colours Corp. is seeking Quality Control Inspectors for their Interior Completions operations.  These positions are located in Peterborough, ON, CA.

 

DUTIES

The QC Inspector will ensure that all inspections and interior completion production for aircraft meet customer requirements and the provisions of the MPM prior to accepting completed tasks as airworthy.  The QC Inspector will be required to make decisions when necessary with regard to determining that work being performed and material used conform to the MPM and other approved established standards.

The QC Inspector shall be responsible to the QC Manager for, but not limited to, the following job tasks:

 

  • Achieve the required Product Quality standards by creating, executing, and reinforcing AS9100 System objectives and processes for Interior Completions.
  • Perform in-process and final inspection of production.
  • Ensure that work is accomplished per established inspection procedures.
  • Ensure that all aircraft interior completion production meets TCCA, customer, company and/or manufacturer's specifications.
  • Ensure that inspection items are complied with properly and all necessary forms are completed.
  • Ensure that work packages are filled out properly as required.
  • Maintain a thorough familiarity with the content of the company MPM and all subsequent revisions.
  • Review inspection forms and paperwork for proper completion.
  • Must be able to meet production schedule and quality standards.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to ensure best practice and continuous improvement in Quality deliverables.
  • Plan, implement and control functional activities in order to achieve operational goals.
  • Maintain FOD/housekeeping standards to ensure a safe product and working environment.
  • Ensure functional role is integrated into Operational unit resulting in a one-team approach.
  • Ensure the right resources are available to meet projected workload delivery on quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Utilize the appropriate resources to solve day-to-day problems; react quickly to unforeseen events.
  • Extended hours may be expected in this position.

 

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of College/CEGEP/vocational or technical training in Quality or related discipline.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems. AS9100 experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Experience with Business Aircraft interior completions.
  • Advanced level reading and interpretation of engineering and customer drawings.
  • Advanced level knowledge of manufacturing procedures and practices.
  • Advanced level knowledge and ability to use job-related quality measurement tools.

  • Ability to work in teams and on a self-directed basis.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and countermeasure identification skills.
  • Excellent technical oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and effective prioritization skills.
  • Ability to influence others towards positive change
  • Initiative to start and complete tasks on time.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (including, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Flexible to work any shift and overtime as needed (including weekends).
